Music Superstar, Drake, released his highly anticipated album ICEMAN, Friday and left fans shocked as he released two additional albums, Habibti and Maid of Honor.

While releasing more than one album in one night has been done before, Drake’s latest move seems to be sending social media into a frenzy.

This conversation carried over from social media to real-life reactions, with fans trying to process what many are calling one of Drake’s most unique drops.

Miami’s 103.5 The Beat, DJ Mr. Mauricio, expressed how the album’s release was stereotypical Drake. Following up on negative reactions, he didn’t understand why people were talking down on the album, and it just dropped.

“If you say you didn’t like any of the songs, you’re just hating, you can’t analyze that much music and have that quick of an opinion in less than two days.”

Not everyone had the same reaction; some fans think there was something bigger going on behind closed doors. Jorde Jones, a student at Florida A&M University and WANM Music Director, mentioned how the albums didn’t seem like his best work.

“I understand why he did it to try to get out of a UMG deal, but he could’ve still made quality music.”

It has not been confirmed if his recent release has satisfied his contract terms with Universal Music Group. Drake signed a $400 million deal back in May 2022. He’s released seven albums since.

This is Drake’s first solo release since his public feud with fellow artist Kendrick Lamar. The albums tackled that beef while also addressing other relationships with UMG, Jay- Z, Lebron James, and many more.

The albums also indicated a possibility that he and Future had made up, as they collaborated on the track “Ran to Atlanta.”

Miami social media Influencer Swade Rico expressed his excitement, “Yeah, Drake might collab with 21 Savage and PARTYNEXTDOOR, but he and Future no one’s ever topping that.”

The three albums totaled 43 tracks, with ICEMAN having heavy lyricism, Maid of Honor leaning into a house-centric album, and Habibti being more R&B focused.
