Nominations for Hollywood’s biggest award show, the Grammys, were announced on Nov. 8.
Beyonce is this year’s most-nominated artist, leading with 11 nominations for her “Cowboy Carter” album, making her the most Grammy-nominated artist in history with 99, breaking her tie with her husband Jay Z. Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, Post Malone and Charli XCX are this year’s second nominated and are all tied with seven nominations.
Taylor Swift received six nominations for her album “The Tortured Poets Department.” She made Grammy history this year by becoming the only woman artist nominated for Album of the Year seven times, breaking a record previously set by Barbra Streisand. She reacted to her nominations at her latest stop in Toronto on her Eras tour.
“You guys got this album nominated for six Grammys,” Swift said. “It’s so unbelievable, so thank you.”
Popular 2024 artists Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, and Sabrina Carpenter are all nominated for Album of the Year with Taylor Swift, Beyonce and Billie Eilish. Roan and Carpenter are nominated in every “Big 4” category this year, which includes Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best New Artist, and Album of the Year.
Charli XCX scored seven nominations with her breakout album, BRAT. This is her first nomination for a Grammy since her nomination for her song Fancy with Iggy Azalea. Five out of seven of Kendrick Lamar’s nominations were for his hit single “Not Like Us,” his diss track against rapper Drake. He is the most nominated rap artist for the Grammys this year.
The Grammys will take place on Sunday, Feb. 2, in Los Angeles at the Crypto.com Arena. It will be broadcast live on CBS and available for live streaming on Paramount+. A complete list of the Grammy nominations can be found on the Grammy Awards website.
