The expo included many companies from the health and beauty industry, such as Ulta Beauty, Wink Fairy Lashes and TGIN. Many local health initiatives were also at the event to educate students about healthy living and wellness.
Many vendors were handing out beauty freebies and coupons to students. There were also opportunities to learn more about your personal health, with exhibitors speaking about breast cancer awareness, STD testing, and even blood pressure readings with FAMU School of Nursing.

Aleisha Fleurantin, an Ulta beauty skincare consultant, got to speak to students about skincare and beauty while handing out a few goodies.
“I really wanted to relay the importance of natural beauty at the Health and Beauty Expo. Skincare is something that is so important in this day and age, and it’s important that we educate students about that.”
Although the Health and Beauty Expo is an exciting event for free products and samples, the bigger picture is to embrace beauty and to take care of your health. The event promotes all types of beauty—whether natural or makeup artistry and encourages practicing healthy habits.
The Health and Beauty Expo empowers students and visitors to embrace beauty how they choose. It is a significant event for FAMU’s homecoming.
